Done with Baseball

Well the T-Ball season is over. After 3 weeks of practices, 14 games, and a Chu*k N*rris siting (his kid plays t-ball also) we are finished for this season. We are so glad that we had this experience, but we are also very excited to be done for a while. Caleb absolutely loved all of his time playing ball. Here a few pictures to wrap up Caleb's season on the Reds.

Both sets of Grandparents got to come and enjoy Caleb's games. Ashlyn also liked all of the attention.

This is how much Ashlyn enjoyed all of the games. Caleb is in the yellow circle.

Recently...

To start off, I just want to say that my heart really hurts for the Chapman family. They have experienced the loss of their 5 year old yesterday which is truly tragic. For those of you who know Steven Curtis Chapman's music, know that he loves God and his family more than anything else. We obviously don't know them personally but feel like we do through his music and the bond of having internationally adopted children. We were blessed very greatly with a grant for Ashlyn's adoption from Shoahannah's Hope (the organization that the Chapmans started (named after their oldest daughter from China) to help the financial burden for families like us.) My prayers go out to the entire family especially their teenage son.

In other news...we have been busy trying to finish up school and baseball. (I am not ready for the reality that I will soon have a 2nd grader.) Today is Caleb's last day playing T-Ball. After tonight, we are officially done. It has been so much fun watching him and his friends try to play a game. Very fun.

This past weekend Nana and Potts got the opportunity to come and watch Caleb's only Friday night game. It was so fun having them come to our house and just hang out. It was a weekend where we didn't have much going on, so we had a great time just hanging out around the house and playing. We love getting to be with them and enjoyed our time so much. I will post pictures from this weekend when I can remember to get the camera out of the car and put the pictures on the computer.

The weekend before, our friends the Hammacks got to come and visit with us. (We celebrated Mother's day together.) All of the kids played so good together and they had a great time. Ashlyn especially enjoyed playing with Cason. We don't have the opportunity very often to spend friend time with them, so we took the most out of every moment. The kids played and played. They played outside, and inside, and in the water. By the end of the weekend, they were exhausted.

It has been a while...

It is truly amazing to me how time goes so fast. We have been in a whirlwind these last few weeks. So here is the abridged version of our last few weeks. (I am going to try to keep with posting everything a little better...we shall see.)

A few Wednesdays ago, Ashlyn and I got the opportunity to join Caleb and his first grade friends to a field trip to the zoo. We had such a great time. We (and four other sets of schools...there were so many little people) enjoyed so many animals. It was a first for Ashlyn to go to a zoo. Quite exciting. It was so fun to see Caleb and his friends really enjoy all of the animals.

Ashlyn thought she was as big as all of the first graders.

Doesn't she look cute? Ashlyn posing as a "ButterPly."

There is suppose to be a tiger behind us somewhere.

A few days after that, Caleb's school performed a "50s sing a-long." He was so precious singing everyones 50s favorites. One thing we did struggle with was Caleb didn't want to have his hair slicked back. Even when he was little, he wanted his hair just right. After much coaxing, he finally agreed and loved it.

Unfortunately, his class performed at the end of the day, and by then, he had no more slicked back hair. Oh well.

This is just a start to the last few weeks. Look for the next post to see more of our life recently.
