Gotta Love Bluebonnets!

It is so fun to see all of the pretty wildflowers this time of year. I love taking time to capture the kids in amongst all of the bluebonnets.
Even Mik got in on the action.

Ashlyn didn't really care for all of the "pokey" feelings on her legs. She really needed Papa's help getting out of all the flowers.

Loving Easter

This year for Easter, we got to enjoy our time at my grandparent's house.

Here is Meme, my grandmother, helping Ashlyn look for Easter eggs. For her first Easter, Ashlyn had a blast. She loved picking up all of the eggs and wanted to know what was inside them right away. Let's just say, she LOVES candy. She has played and played with those little eggs ever since we have gotten home. She will hide them all over the house, and then hunt for them.

Caleb also loved hunting for Easter eggs. It is really fun for him, when he has to really look for the eggs. Things like "you are getting warmer...colder..." make him excited.

For one reason or another, it has been about two years since we have actually had the chance to go to Meme and Papaws farm. We really loved being out there again. It is a great place to play. Caleb brought his new soccer ball, thanks to the Inmans, and his baseball gear. Caleb even talked Greg into playing with him.

While we were there, we had the chance to go see Papaw's cows, watch him feed the cows, drive the tractor, and drive the 4-wheeler. All of these things were great fun. Ashlyn was very fascinated with all of it.

Caleb is such a good tractor driver!

Ashlyn enjoyed swinging on the gates while Papaw pushed her. It was fun to watch both Caleb and Ashlyn do the things that I used to do as a kid.
Thanks for the weekend, Meme and Papaw. We had a great time!

T-Ball here we come!

So it is official. Caleb has now started playing T-Ball. He has been SO excited and ready for it to start (this is his first year). He had his first practice on Monday night, and you would have thought that he really had signed on with some major league team the way he was acting. He was so ready to play and pretty much invited anyone he saw to his first practice. (We don't even have a game schedule yet, but he is still inviting.)

He did really good for his first practice. We were very proud of him and he was proud too. We can hardly wait for the next practice, a whole week away.

On a very, very sad note, Mik, the very much inside dog, had a tick today. It was very HUGE and very disgusting!! It has been removed, thanks to Monty, and she is on the road to recovery.

Spring Break!!

Like I said earlier, we have been really enjoying spring. Caleb had spring break this past week and we all throughly enjoyed it. It started off by raining like crazy, but that only lasted one day. We were thankful that it only rained one day, because then it only delayed our fun by one day. While waiting for the rain to stop, we got to spend some time at Nana and Pott's house which is always fun. When the rain let up, we got to go to Sea World, Nana got off from work to go with us. (We missed Potts, though.)

We played and saw TONS of fish. Caleb and Ashlyn really loved it. Ashlyn was a little concerned that she was going to have to go swimming with the fish. Poor little girl has never swam in her little life and she just knew we were going to make her get in. The only experience she has had with swimming is falling in the pool at Grammy and Big Charlie's house. Not a good first start.

After Sea World, the four of us (five if you include our little dog, Mik) spent 3 days camping. This too was a first for Ashlyn. She thought it was really cool at first. Then when it came time to go to bed, she decided we better go back to Nana and Pott's house. She ended up being a great little camper. We had a fire, hiked on little trails to the lake, cooked and ate outside, slept a lot, played cards, looked at lots of bugs, played in the dirt, and rode our bikes everywhere. We bought Ashlyn a little bike trailer, which her and Mik rode in. They were so cute!!

Caleb finally learned how to get up on his bike by himself. He has been riding without training wheels for a while, but has had a hard time learning how to get started, but he is a pro now!! We were very proud of him!! We had a great time just being a family.

This is truly Caleb's element. Cars and Dirt!

This is our precious daughter learning to drink out of the water faucet. I thought she was too cute.

And this is our sweet little Mik, enjoying her time camping!

Yeah for Spring!

I know it has been a really long time since my last post...and I really don't have an excuse. All I can say is that we have been enjoying lots of different aspects of spring. Santa brought Caleb and Ashlyn a playset and he didn't have enough time to finish it and really needed Mama and Papa's help getting it all finished.
Well, due to winter and lots of youth activities, Mama and Papa finally got it ALL complete!! (Even the "paper" roof, according to Caleb.) It was put together enough for the kids to play on it some, but now they get to enjoy all aspects of it. Before, they both could swing and play around on it, but now they both can enjoy the fort, swings, monkey bars and slide. (The slide is even big enough for me!)
The kids loved playing outside before, and now that is all that they want to do.
