Day 13 – September 22 – Today was the end of our second week here in the Ukraine. We had our second Saturday and it was pretty much like the first Saturday we experienced. We witnessed lots of wedding celebrations today just like last Saturday. After we ate lunch at the hotel restaurant, there were at least seven sets of brides and grooms getting their pictures made on the hotel property. We also enjoyed more “Wildcats, Wildcats, Wildcats…” Every time Caleb heard it, he would just roll his eyes and giggle.
We also had our 19th and 20th visits with Veeka today. She is such a happy girl. Today she really opened up and would say pretty much anything we would ask of her. It was such an improvement from just 2 days ago.
Today was really nice because we didn’t feel like we were just entertaining her, it was more just enjoying being together. Both visits were outside. According to the weather on the internet, we should be able to go outside for our visits for the next 5 days or so. While we are outside, we just explore different parts of the baby home property. Today we discovered a small apple orchard just right there where we have been walking. I bet there were at least 20 different apple trees in that small area. We have yet to try an apple, and we probably are not going to. (We are told to not eat anything that you would eat the skin. We have been sticking to oranges and bananas.) Every day we see the baby home workers looking for good ones to eat and usually a bucket full with them that they take inside.
We also enjoyed playing with our really cheap bubbles. You have to hold your mouth just right to make the bubbles come out good. She is not so scared of them any more. She actually enjoys the bubble experience, which is good.
